Fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
Story
Hello all,
Mike and Madhu are attempting to swim from Asia to Europe across the Bosphorus strait, Turkey. It's a personal challenge and will also hopefully raise money towards pancreatic cancer research. For me (Mike), this is something very dear to my heart after my mum suffered 2 years ago.
Pancreatic Cancer (Something I hadn't really heard of until a couple of years ago)..
- Only 3% survival. The only cancer that has seen no improvement in survival rates over the last 40 years.
- 5th biggest cancer killer with only 1% of research funding
- When my mum was diagnosed, it detonated my world

We get a couple of hours to complete the swim before they open up the shipping canal.... it's going to be a challenge, no promises other than to try!
