Sarah was unlucky to get cancer at a young age but her cancer was also extremely rare and aggressive. There are only around 200 cases of Collecting Duct Carcinoma a year in the UK. As a result the best treatment is not as clear as it may be for more common forms of cancer. Dr Simon Chowdhury who treated Sarah is undertaking research into this and other forms of kidney cancer.
