Brenda Miller

Thank you for taking the time to visit Brenda Miller's Memorial Just Giving page remembering Brenda and the great times we have all shared with her.
After a short but courageous fight against pancreatic cancer, Brenda passed away peacefully on the 26th of May on a gloriously sunny day which she loved so much. Brenda, loving wife to Brian, daughter to Audrey, mum to Sian & Claire (& Stuart!), nanny to Abigail and Rebecca and supportive friend to so many, will be dearly missed.
‘Big Bren’ had a passion for life, living it to the full. Family was central to her life as she was devoted to Brian and so proud of her girls & their achievements. She took much pleasure in observing and ‘guiding’ her grandchildren & sharing their fun and adventures. She had many fabulous holidays with Brian, her family and also organised many with her fellow Guiders & friends. Hockey was a huge part of her life as she played for numerous clubs over the years, managed and organised County junior girls’ teams and enjoyed many happy hours with Sunday ‘touring’ sides. Brenda held many positions within Guiding and ‘Captain’ influenced so many of her young Guides throughout their teenage years and for many, beyond. After retirement she enjoyed her time as a member of the Trefoil Guild immensely. Her bubbly, larger than life personality and spirit for life touched so many. She made such a difference to so many people’s lives and by reading the multitude of cards we realise how lucky we all are to have known her. It seems so very hard to imagine life without our Brenda.
Brendas’ funeral will be held at Eltham Crematorium on Thursday 21st June at 14:00hrs (click for directions). As we are celebrating Brenda’s life, and she was never one to wear black, please feel free to wear suitable colours as you wish. Following the service there is an open invitation for you to celebrate her life at Burnt Ash Hockey/Bexley Cricket club (click for directions). You are more than welcome to join us, but please advise us of you attendance to enable us to cater adequately! Please email, text or phone confirmation to

Brenda requested family & organisation flowers only please as her wish was for donations to be given to the hospice that she fundraised for over many years, and ironically spent some time in, before returning home for her final days.
‘The world has lost a wonderful person…every once in a while we are lucky enough to have known someone very special… and while we grieve we also celebrate the gift of having known them’
Rest in Peace Brenda with all our love.
