Everest Base Camp · 2 April 2019

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Welcome
to our fundraising page for stroke association

On April 2nd 2019 Ryan, Ashley and Brendan will be going on a challenging trek to Everest base camp.
Everest has traditionally been the ultimate goal for
mountaineers, so this should be easy for a market boy, Plumber and an offshore
worker with zero trekking experience Right??

The trip starts with a flight in the Lukla which happens to be the world’s most
dangerous airport. Then over 12 days we will be trekking in the Himalayas to a
Height of 5364m (17600ft). We will be trekking for 6-8 hours day, sleeping in
huts and tents. We picked a good month to do it in as it’s only a mild -10/-15
with no heating.

All 3 think this is a perfect time to raise some money to give back to those in need. Unfortunately picking charities was easy as all 3 of us have lost grandparents to stokes and cancer so any donation to this page for the stroke association and https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ashley-smith62 for cancer research will be much appreciated.

Just for reference.

Norfolk highest hill 103 metres

Snowdon 1085 metres

Everest South Base Camp is in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364.
