I'm going to run a half marathon in Amersfoort. Some of you might be surprised, especially if you've heard me claim with pride, that I've never stepped foot inside the TCD gym. Well, I started running this January. By Sunday, June 15 I plan to be fit enough to complete the 21 kilometers or 13 miles. It began as a personal challenge but I decided to collect for charity while I was at it.  Hopefully you think the race is enough of a challenge to earn your sponsorship.

I've chosen Alzheimer's Research as my charity. The money you donate will go towards developing prevention,  treatments and a cure for the severely debilitating disease. Currently, research into Alzheimer's is very underfunded. Here's a sad statistic to illustrate: For every cancer patient, 350 euro is spent on research while each Alzheimer's sufferer gets only 14 euro. Your donation will be a small step in the right direction to change that.
