Brian Tricia Sarah's Sleep Out at the Cathedral

The Cathedral Archer Project is a place where homeless and vulnerable people can change their lives for the better. We believe life should be rewarding and enjoyable. Homelessness is neither of these.

So, we are testing ourselves as we raise money to help. We will spend one night sleeping rough outside the Cathedral. A Saturday night, when so often we have been on the other side of the road, out with friends, dancing on flashing dancefloors.

None of the three of us have been homeless, but we all know that it doesn't take much for life to take a turn for the worst.

It could happen to us, it could happen to you.

We all need a safety net. Many of us are lucky to have friends or family to turn to, for others it's not that easy. Perhaps they aren't there, or can't or won't help.

The Archer Project is incredible. They offer a tailored service because they know everybody’s needs are different. Learning and doing activities builds confidence and improves health, volunteering gives people responsibility and a sense of purpose, and 1:1 support from a project worker means specific issues can be tackled. 

In the end the aim is for people to live stable, fulfilling and enjoyable lives.
