Story
I am running in the Gynaecological Cancer Fund, Lady Garden Fun Run in Battersea Park on 23 April. This is a 5 kilometre run - not much by most people's standards but certainly far longer than I have ever run before! I am taking part because I am passionate about raising money for Dr Susana Banerjee's research into women's cancers at The Royal Marsden. My mother, Brenda Barker, died of breast cancer at 55 which is younger than I am now and before she saw any of her grandchildren. Consequently I feel that I am on borrowed time and need to make the most of every day.
I am asking friends and family to support me by donating £10 each and if I can persuade 100 people to support me I will reach my goal of £1,000 which would be fantastic!
