It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I am running in this half marathon to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, in memory of my dad, Clive Smith. He lost his battle to this cancer in 2012.

Pancreatic cancer is a 'silent' cancer, which means only a 3% survival rate, because more often than not once the patient is symptomatic the cancer has already spread from the pancreas to other parts of the body, and is terminal. This is a horrible reality to face, and was heartbreakingly the diagnosis Clive was given.

Raising money will greatly help research into preventing more people being affected by this terrible disease, and can also help those families who have been affected by it with treatments and support.

£15 could pay for a nurse to look after patients and families for one hour.

£50 could pay for a patient's medical supplies.

£120 could pay for a nurse to care for patients on the wards for one shift.
