On September 21st I will be taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge along with another 50 colleagues, all raising money for our chosen charities. It’s a 12 hour, 24-mile walking challenge up and down three of Yorkshire’s highest peaks: Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside. In total, we will climb (and descend) 5,200 ft. 

I would love to help raise money for Healing Venezuela (one of the very few charities supporting the country's crisis). Being half Venezuelan, the current economic and political situation in Venezuela is very close to my heart, particularly as I have family members who are going through extremely difficult times.

Venezuela was once a thriving country sitting on the world’s largest oil reserves, however, in the last two decades, the country has suffered an economic downturn which has caused a serious humanitarian crisis. Amongst issues such as food shortages, inflation, and soaring crime rates, there are drastic shortages of medicines. As a result, diseases such as malaria are re-emerging.

Healing Venezuela is a UK-based charity whose aim is to support the country by sending medical supplies to hospitals, implementing stress management workshops and sponsoring high spec HIV and cancer lab tests. As you all know, I've never done anything as physically challenging as this so it definitely won't be easy but for a long time, I've wanted to not only help my own family but also help Venezuela as a whole. For that reason, I'm ready to give it my all for this great charity! I hope that you can all kindly help me by raising as much money as possible and I thank you all very much in advance for your kind donations.
