Story
Hello!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
After many years of trying, I have finally managed to get a place in the London Marathon 2012....oh yay! Whilst I enjoy going for the odd run every now and again, the thought of enduring 26.2 miles fills me with fear and trying to fit any training in around work is set to be an absolute nightmare.
BUT it's all for a good cause!
...I have chosen to run for Guideposts Trust. Guideposts works with children who have the most severe and challenging behaviour, people with mental health problems who struggle to cope with life, adults with learning disabilities and older people who are ending their lives with dementia. The charity also offers support to those individuals who care for these groups.
Guideposts Trust has worked in the community for over 30 years, caring, supporting and enabling people with mental and physical disabilities to live safely and independently in society. In 2010/11 the Trust provided up to half a million care hours, helping thousands of individuals across the country to have a quality of life and the same life chances in line with the expectations of most of us. Their work is carried out quietly and unobtrusively in local communities, changing lives and helping people cope with the circumstances they face.
Please donate as much or as little as you are able to. Your donations will not only help to motivate me as I embark on this ridiculous challenge, but more importantly it will help to support those in need.
Thank you
Bri :-)
