Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page to remember Brian Harper.

Brian was a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many, and will be sorely missed. However, he had a great life and his close family recognise this and are grateful that he passed away on his terms after living such a full and busy life for more than 84 years. His three sons are extremely proud of how he went about living his life, whether through the many good times, or the fewer not so good times.

His cremation is a family affair due to Covid-19; we can't change that unfortunately. We will therefore have a memorial service in 2021 when the whole family, and all his friends can attend. For now, no flowers! Regarding dates to give Bryboy a proper send off - watch this space!

If we can raise a few pounds for the Injured Jockeys Fund then this will be great as he was involved in horse racing almost every day of his life, watching it on TV, supporting family and friends if they had a runner, going racing when he could, and reading about it in the paper every day. He admired the jockeys, especially those who rode over the sticks. He knew the danger they were in every time they sat on a horse, having grown up with his father and brother both being successful jockeys.

Thank you on behalf of Brian for visiting this page. May you all be safe and sound and try to enjoy your lives like Brian did!
