For those who don’t know, James suffers from an awful invisible disease called Menieres. Menieres affects the balance and hearing in the inner ear and can cause extreme dizziness, sickness and tinnitus at any moment in time. This can cause James to have severe attacks without any warning, where he will fall to the floor and suffer from severe dizziness and sickness for a significant and varying amount of time. These attacks are proven to be just as severe and stressful to the body as a heart attack! This disease has affected his day to day life in so many ways, mainly impacting his anxiety, energy levels and diet.
There is little knowledge, awareness and research into Menieres and we want to raise money to help fund research in finding ways to stop the devastating affects of Meniere’s.
We wanted to participate in the Bowood Triathlon in June as it’s something we’ve never done and are both somewhat fearful of, and we want to break those fears! My fear is cold water swimming and James’ is running! We will be so grateful for any donation to this great cause.
