Story
-------- THE WHY ----------
I experienced just how difficult it can be when you are struck by illness. I incurred pericarditis (inflammation of the sack that contains your heart) for 6 months in 2017. I thought I had a high tolerance to pain, but the pain to me was excruciating, for what felt like an eternity. My heart itself was very healthy, but the inflammation meant that I had to eliminate exercise, simply walking or lying down a certain way, was painful. This was not easy on the mind and the body. The experience has humbled me, and has contributed to a world view where : I can only imagine the struggle and pain, physically, emotionally, and to those around them, for a person struggling an infinitely more challenging tribulations such as cancer. This is why I am doing this swim, because I want to do what I can to contribute to helping fight cancer. Help me empower those who dedicate their lives to helping combat cancer.
Any amount you consider meaningful to this cause, will mean immensely for me.
