Event: Butterfly Wall

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Yes as always I am asking you to help me raise funds for the Miscarriage Association.

This year I will be creating watercolour butterflies which can be dedicated to your and/or a family/friend's little one(s) gone too soon, for a minimum £1 (or equivalent in your currency) donation.

When donating leave a message as to what you would like written on your butterfly and I will add it to the butterfly wall, which will fill a wall in my house for Babyloss Day - 15th October 2013. Some are having difficulties leaving messages on the page - if your message does not show please contact me asap at enquiry@thepinksnblues.co.uk

If you wish to have your butterfly sent to you after the event I will have to charge £1 (as everything is from my own pocket) for p&p (UK) £2 (overseas) please send payment and your details via paypal to enquiry@thepinksnblues.co.uk

Please see website for more information & pictures on the project at www.thepinksnblues.co.uk

For those who do not know my story - I'm Catherine, the husband is Mac (my rock) and we have both experienced the heartbreak of losing 5 little ones - 2 in the first tri-mester, 3 in the second.

We are now coming to terms that we will never get our own take home baby but we would never have gotten to where we are without the support and information we have received from the Miscarriage Association - leaflets, support group, telephone support and forums along with meeting some very special people on our journey.

One thing we hear from too many is they did not know the MA existed when they most needed them, this saddens me as the MA want everyone to know they are there - take a look at their website www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk you will find a wealth of information - you may never need it but someone you know might.

This is why we are passionate about the work of the MA & why we support them to raise awareness and highlight their services.

Take a look at the figures and see what your money can do:

£5 pays for sending out a pack of 5 information leaflets on miscarriage facts and feelings

£17 pays for helpline support and a leaflet pack for one person

£20 means staff can send leaflet packs to four people

£36 will staff the helpline for an hour (responding to 2 to 4 requests for help)

£50 pays for one hour’s outreach costs, telling 10 nurses, midwives or doctors about The M.A.

£100 will enable The M.A. to train a new support volunteer

£250 pays for a training session for GPs or hospital doctors

£500 means they can send leaflet packs to 100 people

£1,000 will cover the cost of researching, writing and producing a new information leaflet
