Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The CASS team is looking to raise money for Little Bridge House Children’s Hospice in the South West. The distance between Trinity Quay (Bristol, where most of the team are based) and Little Bridge House is 101 miles, so we are looking to complete as many 101 related challenges as we can over a period of 15 workings days during October (weekends included), 15 working days being the equivalent time that the CASS team have on a monthly basis to produce their Client money and Assets Return. This could include walking, running, swimming, cycling and other challenges around the number 101.
The highlight will be a 'Do Good Feel Good' Friday team walk where we will look to get as many of the team together to walk.
The various teams in Trinity Quay have a history of supporting the great cause of Children’s Hospice south West (CHSW) and we didn’t think anyone on the team or their relatives would ever need to use one of their hospices but in February, 8 year old Ella, daughter of our colleague Dave, lost her battle with DIPG: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffuse_intrinsic_pontine_glioma).
Ella spent some time at CHSW and Dave says “The team at Little Bridge House in Barnstaple unfortunately never really got to know Ella as she was before diagnosis as they do with some of their other children with long term illnesses. Her shocking sudden diagnosis, treatment and rapid decline all meaning they only saw her a few times. However, she touched them whilst there and they have shown us, as a family, such kindness.
They admit they will probably/hopefully not know what it is like to lose a child but they offer an understanding ear given their experience. They also do fantastic sibling work to make sure everyone is supported as best as possible. The support does not just go away either as they are there for as long as we need them and to whatever degree so they are absolutely amazing.”
This year is CHSW’s 30th anniversary and, like many charities, Covid has reduced their opportunities for fundraising. So please spare what you can safe in the knowledge that the CASS team will be pounding the streets, splashing those pools or cycling the roads to earn this, it will be gratefully received and help them continue their wonderful work.
