CCHF All About Kids Fancy Dress/Superhero Charity Walk · 7 August 2016

CCHF exists to provide severely disadvantaged children aged 7-11 with a range of residential activity, respite breaks and ongoing contact. The aim is to improve the quality of their lives, recognise their potential and achieve their goals in the safest possible environment. Since its inception in 1884, CCHF has helped over 2million children. Many of the children come from backgrounds including poverty, isolation, neglect and abuse, some are young carers or a sibling or parent and some have suffered from bereavement or family breakdown. Often, their natural play areas are rife with drugs, gang culture, violence and crime. We receive no statutory funding and rely totally on the generosity of our donors and supporters.

Story

Following an online and in-store customer vote, Sainsbury's Hassocks Local has announced that CCHF All About Kids will be the store's new Local Charity Of The Year for 2016-2017.

CCHF will be using monies raised to enable disadvantage children to enjoy residential activities and respite breaks. The children are
aged 8-11 and are coping with life under very difficult circumstances, whether that’s severe poverty, abuse, neglect, isolation or domestic violence. Some are young carers with challenging responsibilities at home.

To celebrate this announcement, a launch day will be taking place on Friday 5th August. There will be a stand in store where you will be able to get more information about the work the charity does.

Our first event to support CCHF is a Fancy Dress/Superhero Charity Walk, on Sunday 7th August, starting at 11am. Everyone is welcome, so please come along and show your support. (Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Fancy dress not essential.)

The walk starts from Sainsbury’s Local Store in Hassocks (BN6 8AN) and goes to Ditchling Beacon and back, approximately 7 miles.

(The walk will be mainly on footpaths and bridleways and will climb The Downs by Jack and Jill. Please ensure you wear suitable footwear.)

looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up!

Thank You
