Chloe's story
I am doing the MoonWalk in memory of my beautiful Mum - I hope to make her as proud as she made me.
In March 2011, my Mum was diagnosed with metastatic Breast Cancer. When Mum fell ill my family were completely devastated. Mum was always so fit, strong and on the ball. She had so much to live for and so much love to give by always caring for others and putting others first before thinking about herself.
When Mum was diagnosed, she was given a prognosis of 6 months. However, after enduring many rounds of treatment using sheer strength and determination, Mum managed to prolong this time and fight the disease for a further 4 and a half years. During this time, Mum achieved many things on her bucket list, such as a helicopter flight, balloon ride, weekends away with her friends and spending quality time with her best friend Lee who came to visit from Australia.
Unfortunately, after 5 years of bravery Mum sadly lost her battle on 21st November 2015 surrounded by my family in Priscilla Bacon Lodge. My world was torn apart.
I feel so blessed to have had such an incredible, inspirational and courageous role model I can proudly call my Mum, who I will always continue to look up too. However, as comforting as it is to feel blessed by this, it doesn't make the pain of losing Mum any less or easier to deal with. Each day is a struggle missing someone so special and so important to me. Therefore, I am taking part in this MoonWalk to raise awareness and money to help other families who also have to deal with such heartache.
I am extremely grateful to have 2 of my best friends Ellie and Daisy beside me giving me their continuous love and support to complete the MoonWalk.

Ellie and Daisy’s Story
We are doing the MoonWalk Marathon alongside our dearest friend Chloe. She sadly lost her mum, Amanda, at the end of last year to Breast Cancer. Even through this tough time Chloe has always showed strength and resilience.
We are extremely lucky to have known Amanda and even luckier to call her daughter one of our best friends. Chloe was a credit to her mum. She always has a smile on her face and we are so proud of her and how she has coped. We want to support Chloe in her journey and make Amanda proud by crossing the finishing line hand in hand.
We want to raise as much money as we can to help fight this horrible disease so other families don’t have to go through the heartbreak, which Chloe suffered, of losing someone so dear to them.
Amanda will always be in our hearts and will never walk alone.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all in advance for your donations.
