Story

As part of Brunel's participation in #GivingTuesday, the CHMLS Social Team has organised a skipping contest and cake stall.

We invite a voluntary donation from all attendees (and anyone who wishes they could have attended!), in support of the Mayor of Hillingdon's charities.

The Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Roy Chamdal, is supporting two excellent local causes this year:

  • Domestic Abuse Survivors
The Mayor chose Domestic Abuse Survivors due to the rise in incidents throughout the pandemic and was impressed by how they cared for those who turned to them for support.
  • Navratri Garba
Navratri Garba provides free food to the those most in need. Cllr Chamdal was inspired by how the charity supports the wider community. He hopes to raise awareness of the extraordinary work that both these charities do for residents.

Note: The funds raised through this event will support the above causes.  Each year the new mayor chooses their preferred causes, so the mayor's charitable trust fund has supported other causes in the past.

About the charity

This year the Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Shehryar Ahmad-Wallana is supporting Halo Children's Foundation, and Al-Falah Institute.
