Thanks for visiting CHAILEY HERITAGE SCHOOL APPEAL PAGE
Chailey Heritage School is a pioneering centre of excellence for young people with complex physical and learning disabilities. Our aim is to give these young people as much independence and as many opportunities for decision making as possible in a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment.
In the last 15 years, as the range and complexity of the children's disabilities have increased, we have had to review our facilities and undertake a series of building initiatives to ensure that we are able to meet the increasingly complex needs of this group of children. We can only do this if we are able to find the funding ourselves.
Earlier this year we embarked on the redevelopment of our Secondary Department, which was built in the 1960's and was in urgent need of modernisation. The Secondary Department needed to be rewired, classrooms updated, windows replaced and a new Sensory Studio and centralised Staff room created.
Work on the project began at the end of July and thanks to the tremendous support we have received from grantmakers and many individuals, we have been able to complete the work on the classrooms and Music Room. Work has now started on the Multi Sensory Studio and centralised staff room. With the funds already raised and a substantial commitment from the School, we still need to raise a further £169,000 to meet the costs of the project. If you think you can help, we would be most grateful.
