CNS Staff Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge

Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge · 22 June 2019
On June 22nd 2019, 16 teachers from Cardinal Newman School will be completing the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge. This involves climbing the three highest peaks in Wales in one day - Snowdon (1085m), Cader Idris (893m) and Pen-y-Fan (886m).
The Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge includes a total walking distance of 17 miles and an ascent of 2334m.
We will be setting off from Pen y Pas at the foot of Snowdon at the crack of dawn on Saturday, June 22nd. After tackling Snowdon, we will travel to Cader Idris near Dolgellau and then on to Pen-y-Fan in the Brecon Beacons in the hope of completing the challenge before sunset.
We have chosen the charity DEBRA as it is a cause that's close to our hearts. Our good friend and colleague, Bal Domun, suffers with Epidermolysis Bullosa. His strength and determination is an inspiration to us all and we would like to do our part in raising awareness of this condition.
DEBRA is the national charity supporting those directly affected by, and working with, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a potentially fatal skin condition that causes constant pain due to unstoppable internal and external blistering. DEBRA provides lifelong care and support to the entire EB community.
Together we #FightEB and together we will beat EB.
