Dear supporters, In November this year I will be participating in a cycle challenge in India . It is ten years since I participated in a similar challenge in Mexico, and fourteen years since Cycle Jordan, both in aid of the National Deaf Children's Society.

I thought it was about time I did some serious training and took on another challenge. So, I am going to attempt to cycle 300 miles in five days in Rajasthan. I have been told that Rajashtan is known as the Land of Kings, which is India at its exotic and colourful best. The harsh landscape and tribal customs have fashioned a people and culture which is visibly different from the rest of the country.

I started training early this year by cycling both on and off road and swimming. As you can imagine I need to build stamina for the rough roads and hot climate.

I will be paying for the tour costs myself so all sponsor money raised can be donated to my chosen charities. I have chosen to support The National Deaf Children's Society , and also The Brooke the UK's leading overseas working equine charity. To donate to The Brooke please go to my other JustGiving page.

The National Deaf Children's Society is the national charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people. They represent the interests and campaign for the rights of deaf children and young people from birth until they lead independent lives. Three babies are born deaf in the UK every day.
