Story

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED

The walk on the 11th July was a success and it took us just over an hour to complete the course, pictures are attached.

Again a HUGE thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read the story below and donate both online and offline and remember every penny counts so please don't stop donating, the page will remain open for another 3months.

Speaking of those who have generously donated offline, we would like to say thank you to the following:

Josephine Gustave, Martin Lindenberg, Preetam's school friends and teachers, Ricky Gunn, Kevin Hurley, Michelle Lawson, Anthony Butcher, Dave Cook, Madhu Mistry, Deborah Nixon, Brian Roscorla, Jeffrey Bleach, Graham Churchill, Mitesh Patadia, David Davison, Earl Blucher, Dennis Murphy, John Levey, Steve Shaw and Ashok Patel.

Our baby brother Preetam was saved by St Mary's Hospital at the age of four.

While he was growing up he suffered from stomach pains but at his young age was unable to describe what was wrong.  He would cry for hours on end whilst doctors wrongly put it down to problems such as growing pains and wheat intolerance for four years. However, one morning he was rushed to Ealing Hospital where he was vommitting bile and was put on morphine leaving him disorientated and still crying in pain.

After 14hours of no progression he was moved to St Mary's Hospital where he was scanned and finally the reason for his pain was found in the form of three cysts full of blood and milk on his small intestines, which needed to be removed immediately, as well as 4inches of his intestines.  He was operated on in Chelsea and Westminister Hospital and returned to St Mary's Intensive Care Unit when septicaemia set in.  For four days he was kept unconscious in hope that his vitals would return to normal, while doctors told our parents there was nothing left to do but pray.  At this point, there was only a 50/50 chance of his survival.  Thank God, doctors, nurses and the fact that Preetam is a little fighter that he got through what were the longest two weeks of our lives.

Seven years on we are all still very grateful and always will be for the doctors (Dr Raj and consultant Mr Haddad to name a few) and nurses who helped our little brother stay with us and would like to give something back in the form of raising money for the charity of the hospital, COSMIC, so they can carry on doing the thing they do best.

To fundraise for this charity a group of family members are taking part in a 5km walk from Hyde Park to Paddington on the 11th July.  We would really appreciate if you could help us support this cause and make a donation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and every donation counts towards our target.
