When Misty was just a few weeks old she became critically ill with bronchialitus and had to be resuscitated several times. When she had been stabilised, she was transferred to the PICU in St Mary's Hospital in Paddington. There, she had 24 hour one-on-one nursing care. She was wired up to all sorts of machines that monitored her and did her breathing for her until she was strong enough to do it for herself.

The care she had at the unit was second to none and we will be forever grateful to all the staff on there and all those people who have donated in the past to help provide the beds and machines that help the seriously ill children who need the unit.
