Craig Mitchinson's fundraiser for Mental Health UK

Mt Toubkal Summit Climb · 14 October 2020
"You don't have to be a fantastic hero to do certain things -- to compete. You can be just an ordinary chap, sufficiently motivated to reach challenging goals." ~ Edmund Hillary
Hello there! My name is Craig Mitchinson and I am a somewhat ordinary chap, committing to multiple trekking challenges to raise funds for Mental Health UK. You can track my Strava progress on my page as I target 1000 miles.
Mental Health UK supports people affected by mental health problems including friends, family and carers. Working across the UK, they bring together over 40 years of expertise from four national founding charity partners to improve understanding and provide vital care.
Having battled with mental health myself long-term, I am looking to give back and raise funds for the very services I have been afforded in the past. I registered to climb the highest mountain peak in North Africa, Mt Toubkal, as a statement of my ambition for this worthy cause. Sadly, due to the pandemic it is no longer appropriate to travel abroad for this challenge, thus I will be trekking around Scotland with other colleagues and fundraisers. It will still be a gruelling experience, but with the outstanding beauty of the likes of Glen Coe!
Thank you for any contribution you provide, big or small - all money goes to charity, it does not fund any travel or expeditions. Don't forget to tick the gift aid box! We started with an Edmund Hillary quote, so it seems fitting to end on one.
"People do not decide to become extraordinary. They decide to accomplish extraordinary things." ~ Edmund Hillary
