I am doing a sky dive for Samaritans UK in May 2022. There is nothing scarier than your own mind, so a sky dive shouldn't be too bad.

I know a volunteer personally at Samaritans Sheffield and the service they provide is absolutely fantastic, yet strained. They need more funding.

The listening volunteers at Samaritans have helped a lot of people I know in battling their demons. Sometimes, it is much easier to talk to someone you don't know and you can't see. Mental Health is something a lot of people struggle with. Samaritans have listening volunteers that people are able to confide in should they be struggling with their head or contemplating suicide. I think it is so important to talk about what is going on inside your mind, and even more important to fund services that can support that. The service that Samaritans UK provide is amazing and the hopes is that there can be more volunteers to help people through fundraising. 

If you are ever in need of talking to someone, but talking to someone you know feels too real, or too scary, then please please give Samaritans a call. They are available 24/7, so should things still feel too loud after a night out, or it gets very dark on a Sunday Afternoon, they are available. 

Whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you.
