Story
On the 23rd of September 5 of us for Cala SHC will be working to take on the three peaks challenge in order to help fight against and raise awareness of mast cell diseases
A member of our Chichester team has a 2 year old son called Devan who has a rare illness called Mastocytosis.
What is Mastocytosis.................. Mastocytosis is a rare disease that affects the mast cells in the body. Meaning that Devan is at increased risk of severe anaphylactic shock. Devan's early signs were a few little spots under the skin and these have spread across his body and unfortunately Devan has to take daily medication to keep his flare up at bay. Unfortunately for Devan his two main triggers that he is highly allergic to is crying and overheating meaning that epi pens are needed to be with him at all times.
Mast Cells play a crucial part in how the body functions, heals and grows help us in our fight against this horrible disease and raise awarness to the horrible illnesses that sometimes go under the radar.
