We are the national charity for anyone affected by mesothelioma. A preventable cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Your generous donations allow us to support people with mesothelioma to live better, longer and to prevent mesothelioma happening to future generations.

Story

O.K so starting on Sunday the 28th of August I'll be running four separate 1/2 marathons over 6 weeks finishing on the 2nd of October - not quite sure if this is a great or foolish idea just yet but the schedule looks something like this..

Aug 28th - Severn Bridge 1/2

Sep 4th - Chippenham 1/2

Sep 25th - Bristol 1/2

Oct 2nd - Cardiff 1/2

I'm doing this in memory of my Dad who I lost just over 2 years ago to Mesothelioma - a rare form of cancer found in the lung due to Asbestos. It affects roughly 2,500 people every year and currently there is no cure for it. Hopefully the money raised can go some way to helping the funding that is massively needed for specialist care and clinical trials to continue.

About Mesothelioma UK

Mesothelioma UK is a national specialist resource centre, specifically for the asbestos-related cancer, mesothelioma. The charity is dedicated to providing specialist mesothelioma information, support and education, and to improving care and treatmentfor all UK mesothelioma patients and their carers.

The charity integrates into NHS front line services to ensure specialist mesothelioma nursing is available at the point of need. This is achieved through a growing network of specialist mesothelioma nurses, regionally based in NHS hospitals but funded by Mesothelioma UK.

The charity relies entirely on donations, legacies, fundraising and sponsorship to ensure all services provided free of charge across the UK.
