Rob and his team are climbing Snowdon

Climbing Snowdon · 17 August 2019
The team is Rob Camm, Kirsty Camm, Ian Camm, Simon Camm, Jason Kendall, Claire Kendall, Ed Dailiy, Carrie-Anne Dailly, Nigel Hopkins, Theo Wapshare, Rob Yeats, Simon James, Helen James, John Evans, Helen Evans, Dave Merrett, Chris Pain, Simon Henley and 2 carers (for Rob) plus more to be announced.
About 5 1/2 years ago I was involved in a car accident that resulted in a high level spinal injury. This left me paralysed from the neck down and dependent on a ventilator to breathe. The Spinal Injuries Association provided peer support and other practical assistance following this which was invaluable and instrumental in helping me adjust to my new life.
– Seeing what could still be possible given my situation kept me going in those early days.
– Seeing that a somewhat "ordinary" life would be possible.
– Seeing that others had undertaken apparently impossible challenges was an inspiration.
I would like to help someone else get through the dark days, weeks, months and years by reaching the summit of Snowdon and raising money to enable the SIA to assist them.
If I raise my initial target of £2,000, that could pay for 40 calls through the SIA Advice Line, or for 4 SCI people and their families to receive Peer Support for an entire year; Peer Support has been vital for me personally, so please help me to hit this fundraising milestone, and in turn help more people like me.
.Also vital are the non-climbing support team – Gill Camm et al and two further carers.
