Capoeira for Refugees project aims to make it viable for Capoeira teachers and mestres to come to the region to teach the children, share their experience with the local instructors and to promote Bidna’s work.
I have been working with Capoeira for almost 15 years in the UK. I have taken part in many charity events either doing demos or workshops. However when I came across Bidna's work, it reminded the times when I taught in a Favela of my home town, Rio. That experience was one of the reasons that today I work with Capoeira. The more I got to know Bidna's work the more I felt compelled to be more active. I proposed the idea of the project and Tarek and all involved in Bidna were very receptive to the idea. Together we are making the first of what will be many tours to the region.Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
