Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Christmas 2007 my friends little boy, Kai, was diagnosed with leukaemia. Kai had only just turned 2 and didn’t understand what was going on. He spent the next couple of months battling the disease with the help of Birmingham Children’s hospital. During this time he classed the hospital as his home and remained a happy and cheerful little boy.
Sadly Kai passed away in April 2008 after developing an infection. Kai’s parents have been absolutely amazing and I am full of admiration for them.
Since Kai passed away I have been involved in a couple of fundraising events after finding out that the majority of Birmingham Children’s hospitals funds have to come through charity donations. Birmingham Children’s Hospital have some fantastic initiatives set up to ensure that children undergoing treatment there not only get the best treatment available but also have the quality of life they deserve while going through the toughest time of their lives, and unfortunately in some cases, the last few weeks / months of their lives.
I have decided to jump out of a plane in memory of Kai and would love to raise a decent amount of money to donate to Birmingham Children’s hospital to help support them in the excellent work they do......so please sponsor me!
Many thanks for your support,
Carly Henderson
