Below is some information from the company
"The current arts funding set up in Scotland means that our company – Poorboy – can’t apply for funds to take our fantastic wee show Pirates & Mermaids to the Edinburgh Fringe this Storytelling Centre is lined up and ready to put us in their programme and we’re all sorted and registered as part of Fringe itself but we don’t have the funds to stage the work.
The show is an international story set in Scotland and New York. It’s had great responses from preview audiences in both countries – people laugh a lot, get a little sniffly and phone their loved ones right after it. It’s a real experience. It’s not just a play. It’s the kind of show that year. We have a venue on the Royal Mile, right at the heart of the Fringe – the lovely Scottish makes people really think about themselves, their lives and who they love. Our work always strives to move people emotionally, to connect people and to have our audiences feel like a wee posse who’ve been through a great experience together. Friendships are forged at our shows! And that’s exactly why we’ve chosen a Firewalk as our fundraising method".
