Caroline's Computers for Refugees

Computers for Refugees · 25 January 2021
The pandemic has thrust us all into digital dependency. Most of us now use computers to order groceries, have lessons at home, get a doctor's appointment or join our friends and family on Zoom. But many refugees and asylum seekers don't have computers or even a smart phone. They are cut off from each other, and their children from their education.
Refugee Action supports refugees and asylum seekers. But providing them all with equipment is beyond the charity's resources. Having listened to the harrowing stories of refugee families cut off from this vital part of the modern world, I decided to see if I could raise money so that Refugee Action can help more people. £350 will buy a laptop, and £50 provides data and phone credit. So for £400 a family's life can be radically changed.
I am planning to walk the Thames Path from Greenwich to Hammersmith Bridge on January 25th 2021. It's just short of 20 miles. Please sponsor me! As a long time supporter of Refugee Action I've started off the page with a donation of £400. I'm not asking you to match that. Every little contribution will help a family escape the digital isolation they are currently imprisoned in.
And if you would like to join my walk, you would be very welcome!
