RTU is a grassroots organisation, working with the poorest children and families in rural communities in South India to change their lives for good. We build decent housing, drill wells, run schools, promote rural enterprise, and care for 1,000 orphaned children in 4 Children's Villages.

Story

With St Stanislas Dulverton we are raising money for Reaching The Unreached (RTU).

From Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 September 2010 we bike from Dulverton to Our route follows the , & , Bristol Railway Path, Kennet and , ,  Wey Navigation and Thames Tow Path to Chiswick .

Four days at 50 miles a day along the tow paths of Olde , with many a pit stop for cream teas and frothing pints. Last time we biked this route Simon put on 2 Lbs!

Remember £350 will pay for a well, hand-pump and clean water for 45 families.

RTU is an organisation based in a small village in rural . Its mission is to respond to the needs of the poorest people in the surrounding remote villages, providing health care, low cost housing, clean water, support for the elderly, schools and more. Children are at the heart of RTU's work especially those who have been abandoned, rescued from abuse or orphaned. Increasingly children are losing parents to AIDs and some are HIV+ themselves. RTU's 4 "Children's Villages" provide homes for over 600 children living in family groups of 6 to 8 with a foster mother. RTU supports these children through to adulthood and independence.  RTU is a very worthwhile and genuine cause - CLICK the charity's homepage at www.rtu.org.uk to read more.
