We did it!  Boy were we lucky with the weather - we were able to dash in glorious sunshine. Suzanna arrived with minutes to spare and what an entrance. She hired an outfit and looked spectacular, at least one of us was positively green with suit envy.

We had intended to make use of all our training by sprinting round but as Suzanna was the last to arrive it meant that we started at the back of the grid and so our speed was restricted. Pushing past dozens of Santas (some of them being small children or dogs) would probably have posed a health & safety threat and not really in the spirit of the event. However we did manage the odd overtaking manoevre and even sprinted across the finishing line.

There was a great turnout and many thanks to Jackie, Linda, Brian & Catherine for coming along to support us.

Afterwards we walked into the village - generating quite a bit of attention from passing cars. We intended going to the pub but it was closed so we settled for a coffee and had great fun in the coffee shop. A little girl in there was really taken with Suzanna and they had a wildly entertaining chat. I am afraid that her Dad may not have been too pleased as she was told "yes of course you can have an Ipod" - oops sorry about that.
