TOFS offers support to people born with Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula (TOF) and/or Oesophageal Atresia (OA). These are rare congenital malformaltions of the gullet and windpipe. Immediate neonatal surgery is a treatment, not a complete cure. We are UK-based and receive no public-sector support at all.

Story

Hi my name is Carole James, thank you  for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page. This year I am doing a number of events in aid of TOFs - Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula Support, this is a charity created to help children born unable to swallow due to the condition TOF or AO.

This charity is close to me as my nephew Nathan was born with the condition in 2008, he has been through many operations and has many more to come. With the help of TOFS his parents have help learning how to get him to start eating which he has just started doing about 2 months ago.

I have been doing s number of events in aid of TOFS which is a charity for children born unable to swallow. I got involved with the charity nearly 3 years ago because my nephew Nathan was born with the condition TOFS and both my brother, sister in law and Nathan have been helped by the charity. On 2nd October I did  my first ever wheelchair race the Northampton 5 km and managed to complete it in 1 hour 2 minutes dispite being the hottest day in October. My next wheelchair event is going to be the 5km Santa run at Stanwick lake, in this one I will be dressed up as santa while pushing myself round. I hope that you will support me and this time as it will be cooler this time and flatter so hopfully I should do it quicker but but every penny raised for the charity will help the charity greatly and help the TOFs children a lot.
