We protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support. We ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives. Our vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Story

My name is Carolina Sagarmendi, I am 53 years of age and I currently live in Cardiff. I am originally from Spain but moved to Wales around 28 years ago. I am a single mother of three beautiful daughters, whom of which I am extremely proud of.  I am self-employed as a Sports Therapist and I opened my own business, Cwtch Therapy, around 5 years ago.

In April 2011, I had a minor stroke where I completely lost feeling in the right side of my body. It was an incredibly difficult time, coping with the side effects of the stroke as well as raising three girls.

Over the last few years, I had been up and down regarding my health, and just to top it all off, I had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis(MS) in 2014, just a week after opening my shop. I have always had a positive attitude towards things, and decided to change the meaning of the abbreviation of Multiple Sclerosis to Maximum Strength, and I wanted to focus on what I loved doing the most. Which is to help people excel with their health and fitness as well as doing my best every day. When I was introduced to Herbalife, it certainly helped me achieve this. The products helped change my life and allowed me to change the lives of others for the good. I had changed my shop from a gift shop to a breakfast club in 2018, alongside with my treatment room. In no time, I had gained a number of newly joined Herbalife members, that had achieved very positive results from the products, over such a short period of time.

This was all very rewarding, however, I had still felt like something was missing. When I had heard about the cycle from London to Cologne, I just knew I had to sign up and start cycling again. Since 2011, I had lost nearly all of my confidence on the bike, and lost some of my cognitive functions. However, I have realised that when I get back on my bike or when carrying out normal exercise, I can feel my mental health and self-esteem greatly improving, as well as my physical health. After each bike ride, I feel much more confident, ready and excited to complete the London to Cologne ride, also knowing that it is all for a great cause.
