Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Sam's JustGiving page.

As many of you know Sam died on 22nd October 2009.  On the 16th May 2012, he would have been 21 years old.

To remember our lovely Sam we wanted to do something that we have never done before and raise money for the Encephalitis Society.  Our friends and family are running with us, many of whom shared those dark times in Intensive Care at Blackburn Hospital with us.  Will, Sam's younger brother is also running.

We are, as a family, indebted for the enormous support and kindness shown to us since Sam's death.  We miss Sam hugely but by celebrating his life in this way others may benefit.

On the tee-shirts we are wearing for the run will be the name of Matt Alston.  Matt died almost a year after Sam but at the same age.  Whilst Matt and Sam never knew each other, their premature and devastating deaths have created a new friendship between their parents

Thank you for any donation you leave.  it is very, very much appreciated.  We will of course let you know how we get along but be assured we will not be contenders for the Marathon!

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you everyone
