London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017 ·

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

In the next 15 minutes someone in the UK will start to lose their sight. Imagine that - trust me it is scary sh*t!

The RNIB are there for people who have lost or are losing their sight and provide amazing support when no one else really knows what to do or how it feels to be in that position.

I am someone who has recently dealt with this sort of news and can only imagine how a person would cope if the result had been the worst case scenario and didn't have a support network around them. As a result I am taking on the London Marathon to raise money to make sure that the RNIB can continue to do what they do for those who need them.

I've been lucky (so far) and the RNIB are helping me get back to work and get back to a normal life, however, I will rely on them for a long, long time as my sight deteriates over the rest of my life. Others are not so lucky and will need the RNIB to adjust to a life in the dark - How would you even begin to help that person?

Please give what you can to this cause which does incredible work throughout the UK and is a charity obviously close to my heart. I've pledged £2000 to the RNIB - I really want to smash that, please give generously.

You can give money by adding sponsorship to the site or by texting 70070, starting your message with 'GTSF48' followed by the amount you would like to sponsor me - the amount will be deducted from your next phone bill.
