On 12th May, my seven-year-old son Matty and I will be walking 10 kilometres with Just Walk to raise money for Dyscover. 

Dyscover is a small charity which provides long-term support for people with aphasia, a communication disorder which commonly results from stroke. Aphasia can affect the ability to speak, read, write or understand what's being said. 

An estimated 110,000 strokes occur every year in the UK and there are around 900,000 stroke survivors in England. About 33% of stroke survivors experience communication difficulties. 

Dyscover helps its members develop strategies for communicating, maximising their abilities and providing help and support for their families and carers.
