Tough Mudder South West 2018 · 18 August 2018 to 19 August 2018 ·
I thought I needed a new challenge so when this one popped up I had to get involved!
Tough Mudder is ten miles of course, 20 obstacles, and lots of mud. I've never done anything quite like this before so it will definitely be challenging.. and different!
I'm doing it as a part of a team of three of us from the RSPB. I'm from the Eastern Region, and the other two are from the South West. Between us we have our own strengths (mine is not any kind of upper body strength) so we'll need to work as a team to get around the course.
I work in the super duper editorial team of the RSPB, working on both print and digital communications so we're lucky enough to see all the amazing work the RSPB does. With more than 200 reserves in the UK, a programme of activities for families, a political campaigning arm, and conservation science research as well, it's definitely a broad spectrum.
But what if you woke up one morning and the air was silent. Eerily so. No dawn chorus, no screaming swifts, no call of a blackbird, no fluting song of a nightingale. Birds are a source of pleasure for so many people on so many levels, and the RSPB is doing all it can to save them and other wildlife too.
So if you'd like the birds and wildlife to thrive, or if you like the idea of me going through hell for a few hours, please help me reach my target!
