Story

I'm off again. Another run, another great cause... hot on the heels of the Virgin London Marathon, I'm now taking part in the Bupa Great North Run.

This time, I'm raising money for Diabetes UK - a magnificent charity that is very close to my heart.

The marathon was a real test of my abilities but it was exhilarating. Despite being exhausted after more than 26 miles running through the streets of London, I could have done cartwheels over the finish line. It was a thrilling experience and I managed to raise more than £1,200 for children's charity The Wooden Spoon.

Despite some trepidation at pulling on my running shoes again, I have got back into training in preparation for the 13.1 miles I'll have to cover on September 18.

I am sure the crowds and my fellow runners - 54,000 of them! - will carry me through again. They really lifted my spiirits in London and I'm sure they'll do the same in the North East.

Diabetes UK is such a worthy cause. We all probably know people who have been affected by diabetes and all the money you help me raise through sponsorship will go to helping those who need it most.

Given the proper care and treatment, diabetes remains one of the most manageable illnesses. To find out more about diabetes visit http://www.diabetes.org.uk/?gclid=CNi025iL5aoCFcRO4QodPVFj7w

Thanks for taking the time to read just why I'm putting myself through the mill again... it's not so much a passion for running, more a passiong for giving.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. I'll be digging deep into my energy reserves to pass another running milestone.

Thanks again,

Caroline
