We set ourselves the challenge of running the London Marathon last year and despite our best efforts, both of us sustained injuries and were hugely disappointed to be unable to run. So, this year, we are trying again and training is underway. 

Liz has run marathons before but Caroline usually only runs for 6 miles, so this is quite a challenge.  With your support, we hope to finish with a smile on our faces! 

We have chosen to run the marathon to raise money for the Samaritans because we have personally experienced the fantastic support that they have given a friend. Every six seconds, somebody contacts them; the Samaritans provide support by phone, email and face-to-face conversation. Ten times a minute, they can help someone turn their life around. We have witnessed one of the offices in London where the lights are never turned off and the volunteers are there all through the days and nights. Thank you Samaritans!
