Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

As I puffed and panted my way through Putney in the snow last week, I had to ask myself the question “Why exactly am I doing this again??”.  Especially considering the fact that I’m pretty sure I've sworn blind the last 6 times I've run the London Marathon that I would NEVER EVER do it again, I absolutely hate the training and, as someone kindly pointed out recently, I’m just ‘not built for running’.

I’m still searching for the answers – and no doubt will still be wracking my brain as I stand shivering at the start of the 26.2 mile course in 3 months time.

However, what I DO know, is that it is an incredible event, a big challenge, and raises millions of pounds for charity – and I reckon those are good enough reasons for me to embark on this slightly bonkers challenge for the 7 (and really, seriously, hopefully – last) time.

I’m running this year’s London Marathon in aid of the amazing charity, Spinal Research.

I am so painfully aware that many of you have been amazingly generous over the years and have sponsored me every time I’ve asked, for which I am hugely grateful.  I hate sending begging emails, and I can only apologise in advance for this one – but if you would like to sponsor me it would, as always, be hugely appreciated by me and of course by Spinal Research.

Thank you in advance for your support
