Carolyn Fordham is raising money for St Margaret's Somerset Hospice
In memory of Ian Fordham
St Margaret’s Hospice has been at the heart of Somerset’s community for over 40 years, delivering high quality, responsive and compassionate care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ian died on the 2nd March 2022 after a short but heart-breaking struggle. He had a brain tumour that robbed him bit by bit of his ability to read, write, play music, walk, swallow and lastly to breathe. St Margaret's Hospice gave us support throughout the final 3 months. They provided advice, both practical and emotional, equipment to allow Ian to remain independent for as long as possible and, most importantly for Ian, the resources that allowed him to die peacefully at home with his family.

There will be no funeral as Ian has donated his body to the University of Bristol but I am in the process of organising a memorial celebration. I would be very grateful if you could find the time to contribute to this collection for St Margaret's Hospice and, perhaps pass it on to others who are not on Facebook.

Thank you for the many kind messages that have been sent. I am devastated, but I cherish the fact that I have been lucky to spend 12.5 years with a wonderful man.
