About a week ago, Sri Lanka was subjected to intensive rainfall which caused rivers to breach their banks flooding many villages and towns. The heavy rainfall also caused devastating landslides which destroyed entire villages, with the death toll now exceeding 100, with thousands of people left homeless.  

Helene Gevers and I (Cassie Joseph) will be travelling to Sri Lanka in the beginning of July to work with the Helplanka Charity. As well as working at an orphanage and a school, we will be doing some work to help the country recover from this disaster and help children and families who have lost their homes.
