Hello! I'm Cat and I've decided to take part in a virtual race with Race the Distance. A virtual race means that I will be logging the distance and time I have run in order to reach a full marathon by 17 December. I am optimistic I can go further than this, so I'll be keeping this page updated with all my running antics!

EDIT: I am now on marathon number 2! I'll keep going until the virtual race deadline to see how far I can go.

I am not a "proper runner" by any stretch but it's something I have found hugely beneficial to both my mental and physical health, so I want to use this new-found hobby to raise funds for a UK-based charity called Retina UK.

I am raising money for Retina UK because my partner was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa a few years ago, which in short means that he is losing his sight. 

The past couple of years have been really tough dealing with this, but we are optimistic that with the research that charities like Retina UK are doing, a cure or preventative method will be found.
