Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. We love all dogs, and the people who love dogs too. We care for dogs in need through our network of 22 centres across the UK and Ireland, finding them loving new homes. A dog is for Life, not just for Christmas ©

Story

Andy, Will, Antonio and I are running this years London London Marks Half Marathon for Dogs Trust! Scrumpy has been helping get us into shape, and losing a few pounds himself along the way!

The last 3 dogs in our lives have meant a lot to us, and all have a connection to Dogs Trust. At the start of lockdown we fostered the beautiful Misty the Weimaraner, who was struggling in kennels so much she wasn't sleeping, hypersalivating, and causing herself injuries. So Dogs Trust made all the arrangements for her to live with us. Her first night she slept like a log! We managed to ween her off anti-anxiety medication, and work on her separation anxiety, with constant support and training from DT. They found her the perfect home after 3 months, all in the height of lockdown restrictions. We miss her every single day, her face is plastered around our house!

Then we rehomed our little Scrumpy. An entirely different dog all together, and a HUGE challenge. But DT behaviourists helped us manage his more troublesome habits, and he has come a long long way since he first came through our doors. Still a way to go, but we'll get there!

Then last year, our neighbour felt he couldn't care for his dog anymore. We adored Blue, and would help by walking him, bathing and playing with him. We took him in for a week, and DT immediately made arrangements to take him in as soon as possible. They gave him all his meds and vaccinations, sorted out his poorly tummy, and found him the perfect forever home <3

I will be forever grateful to DT for what they've done for me. I've worked there for almost 9 years now, my team are my family and I am still really proud of what we do and who we are.

So if you could spare a penny - especially as I haven't run properly since the pandemic hit- it would be greatly appreciated!
