Sophie was tiny at the time of last year's East Africa food crisis, with thousands in Somalia in desperate need of the basics.Since she was born we have found it really hard to watch any coverage of children in difficult circumstances. We know Sophie is incredibly lucky to have such generous friends and family and we hope through this page to help some children who do not.

Save the Children do incredible work with children in the UK and abroad. In emergencies they not only provide the basics but try to ensure there is provision to help children through the emotional and mental trauma. They are also a leading charity in helping the millions of women worldwide who do not have access to medical facilities to give birth.

With your gifts we will be talking to Save the Children about what the money will be used for so that we can tell Sophie when she is older about her Christening presents.
