On Sunday 8th October, Amy and I will be running the Bournemouth Half Marathon for Victoria's Promise - a charity dedicated to supporting young women facing cancer. 

In March 2016, one of our oldest and best friends, Vicki, was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Following the diagnosis she turned to Victoria's promise for help and found a very supportive network specifically aimed at helping young women facing a battle with cancer. Vicki had 6 rounds of chemotherapy and a major op and was told she was cancer free in September 2016. However, a routine check-up in June 2017 confirmed that the cancer was back and Vicki is now facing another round of chemotherapy treatment. 

Victoria's Promise has supported Vicki throughout the process in many different ways and Amy and I just wanted to try and do something to raise money for such a valuable resource which has made a big difference to someone very close to us.
