This past year has been my toughest yet for many reasons and after an incident at work in July I received a session of counselling. I didn't think much at first as I've always had the "shut up, chin up, keep smiling and get on with it" attitude... But while in there it was possibly the first time hearing someone say, now, tell me how YOU REALLY feel. This made me stop, think and I started crying and cried for a further 20 minutes! That was a turning point for me.

Have no shame, we don't have to cope all of the time.

I have received further private sessions with a counsellor and will possibly have more in the future but some people are not as lucky as me and althought they may need/want counselling they can not afford it and this is where a Charity like Mind comes into it. A charity that does just this....

As everyone that knows me I have been on the larger side for most of my adult life So at the age of 41 and as part of getting myself back on track before its too late I have set myself a 2019 challenge and have signed up for the Carlisle Half Marathon on the 1st of September.

Please help me to help as many people as we can in South Lakeland and raise as much as I can for South Lakeland Mind.
